Detained British Ship Is To Be Released, But Her Cargo Held
TAIPEH (Formosa), Aug. 6 (Rec. 6 pm).—The Government today notified the British Consul, Mr. Edward Biggs, that the 6000-ton British freighter Northern Glow, which has been detained in the Formosan Straits since July 23, will be released. The communication said the cargo, which it is claimed was war material for Communist China, will be detained, but the crew and the ship will be allowed to sail as soon as a message cvn be conveyed to the naval authorities_ at Makitng, in the Pescadores Island.
