N.Z. HOCKEY TEAM BRILLIANT IN WET WEATHER CONDITIONS

SYDNEY, July 21 (Recd. 12.28 a.m.) Displaying brilliant wet weather tactics the New Zealand hockey team defeated Far West by 4 to nil at Forbes. The game was played in appalling conditions and play was held up many times while players washed mud out of their eyes. The tourists gave an object lesson in wet weather play. Their combination could not be faulted.

Of 14 games played so far by the New Zealanders only three have been on dry grounds. Scorers for New Zealand were R. Dunning (2), E. Gribble and Peacock.
