PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Last. Night (PA.—A provisional postage stamp over-printed "lid postage" will be brought on sale shortly, said the Postmaster-General (Mr. Broadfoot) tonight. The Minister added that the recent Increase from one penny to lid as the minimum postage rate for certain mail matter had meant a sharp rise In the sale of lid Stamps and, while fresh supplies of the current denomination were on order from England, they would not arrive in New Zealand for some time. There was no fixed date for the first day of issue of the overprinted series, but when fresh stocks arrived from England the provisional issue would be withdrawn.
