22 PER CENT. INCREASE PERMISSIBLE IN GOODS TRANSPORT CHARGES

(PA)—An incrase of 2J per cent, in goods transport charges by road is permissible. fYom August 13, under an interim order issued today by the Transport Charges Committee. The order takes Into account the interim wage increase granted by the Court of Arbitration. It embodies a new principle of minimum and maximum charges. Minimum change's will be those at present and maximum will be 2 J per cent, higher. The decision follows a public hearing at which applications for an increase to cover higher wage costs was entered by the Commission of Transport.
