NO RUSH YET TO REGISTER VEHICLES IN MARTON.
Although more than half the month has gone since the registering ol motor vehicles commenced at the Marton Post Office only about 16 per cent, of the vehicles registered last year have already been re-registered. The remaining 84 per cent, must bo re-registered before the end of the month, or stay off the road after that date. Motorists who dislike queues should not wait until the last few days to register his or her vehicle but make an early effort next week to apply for registration. According to figures supplied by those in charge of vehicle registration in Marton, 1835 vehicles carry registration plates in the Marton district. They include 1010 cars, 62 motor cycles, 347 trucks and sundry other vehicles. Details of vehicles registered last year with registration for the same type this year in parentheses are: Motor cars 1010 (203); rental cars 2 (1); light trucks 193 (13); heavy trucks 154 (25); contract vehicles 8 (1); buses 3 (-); taxis 5 (2); car trailers 171 (16); dealers vehicles 6 ( —); farm vehicles, mainly trailers and tractors 215 (30); Government vehicles G (6); motor cycles 62 (9); total 1835 (306).
