HOPELESS TASK TO FREE ENTOMBED MINERS
OTTAWA, June 15 (Recd. 8 p.m.)— A back-breaking fight for the lives of five entombed coalminers in a mine near Cadomin, in Alberta, is growing more desperate and hopeless tonight. It is estimated that 20 men—as many as could be accommodated in the narrow confines of a tunnel at one time, were digging away at a barrier of silt and coal.
