TARANAKI-WANGANUI RUGBY MATCH TODAY; GREAT INTEREST TAKEN

• . -.y This morning’s Rugby representative match, Wanganui versus Taranaki, to be played on Spriggens Park, has aroused a great deal of interest, not only because of the keen rivalry between the two unions, which has continued for many, many years, but because there are certain players in both teams who will be watched by one. perhaps two, new Zealand selectors and one North Island selector. No changes had been made in the A teams up to last night, since they were altered at the beginning of last week. There have been two changes, however, in the Wanganui B team, which left last evening for New Plymouth, where it is to play Taranaki B. Ron Head (Pirates), front row forward, and L. Wheeler (Taihape), centre three-quarter, have been unable to play because of injuries. M, Hupaea (Taihape), lock forward in the original team, has been moved into the front row, and R. Gibbs (Rangitikei) is to play lock. Wheeler has been replaced at centre by S. Sturmey (Waverley). The teams are as follow• WANGANUI A. Full-back: D. McCarthy (T).
