WANGANUI RIDER HAS FASTEST TIME IN TARANAKI CYCLE RACE
NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night (OC). —Wanganui and Manawatu riders figured prominently in the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club’s annual 25-mile open road race held over a course from New Plymouth to Turangi and back, via Waitara, on Saturday. It was a fast course with just sufficient hills to make it a good test. Honours fo? the fastest time in the race went to W. J. Main (Wanganui), who has ridden well in the event in the past. He was off scratch with the promising young New Plymouth rider, W. Debney, whom he beat by a narrow margin in the final sprint to the tape. Details of the platings are:—B.
