OBITUARY
Mr. H. A. Butzbach Mr Howard Alfred Butzbach, whe was killed in a motor-car accident at Rangiwahia recently, was well knowr in Wanganui and district. He was born in Paimerston Nortl in 1911. After leaving school he served his apprenticeship to the bak ing trade under his father, the late Mr Carl Alfred Butzbach, of Palmer ston North. After spending a fev years in Wellington, Mr H. A. Butzbach opened a bakery business at Ara moho. During the years he spent ii Wanganui Mr Butzbach was an en thusiastic member of the Wanganu Rowing Club. Later he went to sea, first serving on the coastal vessel Kauri. He thei joined the Maunganui and later server on the Awatea in the early part o the war. Mr Butzbach later went to live a Rangiwahia, where he was employe! by the Rangitikei County Council. Mi Butzbach and family took an activi interest in the social life of the dis trict and made many friends. Mi Butzbach is .survived by his wife ant nine children.
