Stalin Appears In Public; First Time Since July
LONDON, Dec. 22 (Recd. 10 p.m.)— Stalin attended a 70th birthday celebration meeting at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre last night, says Reuter. It was one of Stalin’s rare public appearances in post.war years. With Stalin were his closest comrades, including Molotov, Malenkov. Voroshilov, Beria, Kaganouich, Mikoyan, and Bulganin. Stalin’s last public appearance was at a Soviet aviation day display in Moscow on July 17 last.
