United States Behind Britain In Jet-Powered Plane Transport
LONDON, Dec 15 (Recd. 6 pm). — The United States is far behind Great Britain in the development of jetpowered commercial transport planes, Mr. S. H. Bingham, New York City Boad of Transportation Commissioner,
said in a speech prepared for delivery to a Pan-American World Airways Management Club dinner.
He said the De Havilland Comet "will make our present transport obsolete when it goes into production in a year or two. As far as I know we have nothing as far advanced to compete with the Comet. ’ —Special N.Z.P.A. Correspondent.
