Government Attitude To Communist Teachers
WELLINGTON .Last Night (PA).-* A statement he made on Tuesday oil the subject of school teachers with Communist sympathies was amplified today by the Minister of Education, Mr. Algie.
'While my real meaning can readily; be gathered from the remarks as I'e* ported today, it is just possible that those who read them might form Ihe impression that we proposed to set out immediately upon investigation into the question of Communistic teachers in public schools,” said Mn Algie. “This was never intended, So far nothing of the kind has been presented to us. No evidence of a factual kind has been submitted. If such evidence was forthcoming if would then be our duty to examine ij and to consider what steps should bh taken.” - 1
