Mrs. H. D. Robertson presided over j the final committee meeting for the I year, of the Wanganui Plunket | Society, when reports from the various centres of activity were received, ! and matters of a routine nature dealt 1 with. ' It was decided that copies of a i lengthy report of the Dominion Coun- ! cil’s November meeting, held in Weli lington, should be distributed to members prior to the first committee meeting of the New Year, so that time for study might be given to it. Deep appreciation was expressed for the following generous gifts, noted in Stewart Karitane Matron s report. Miss A. Robinson, Gonville, had sent along a beautifully knitted shawl, and members of the Kakaramea Sub-Branch a box of eggs. Mesdames Rowell and Coull, of the Sewing Committee, were thanked for their work in making and lining new curtains for the dining room and matron’s office. Hospital admission for November had been 19 babies and 12 mothers. The number of babies supervised by Plunket Nurses totalled 816 al. the end of November, and Mothercraft group classes had been held each week. Accounts totalling £609 9s 4d were passed. The president reported that through the generosity of Miss Trevor Hunter, the society’s funds would benefit considerably from the proceeds of her very successful dance recital, although final figures were not yet available. Appreciation was expressed for the work of Mesdames Melody and Talboys and their helpers in arranging for various competitions during the past six or eight weeks, and the meeting closed with an exchange of seasonal good wishes between president and committee.
