Gallipoli Veterans In Wanganui Elect Officers
Gallipoli veterans in Wanganui have held their annual meeting and elected officers. Mr W. A. Hampton has been elected president and Mr E. Bevege vice-president. The two committee members are Messrs B. J. Hooker and T. Brydone. Mr C. L. Lovegrove is the honorary secretary. It was reported at tne annual meeting that the social function held by the veterans was a great success, and that there was every indication that the next similar function would be even better. It is believed that, including Imperial Forces and Australians, there are some 121 Gallipoli veterans in the Wanganui district, and some 58 have been registered. To register a man pays the one fee of ss. and the social functions are financed by members who attend them.
