No Heresy Hunt, But No Communists To Hold Key Positions In N.Z.
WELLINGTON, Yesterday (PA).— The incoming Government’s firm intention was to ensure that Communists would not be permitted to hold key positions in which they could be an actual or potential danger to the security of the nation, said the Prime Minister-elect, Mr Holland, at a Press conference today.
“We are not going on a heresy hunt,” he added, saying that a survey would be made to ascertain the trut position.
“The public will expect us—and they will not be disappointed—to ensure that what we said during th*, election campaign will be put into practice,” said Mr Holland. “We made it as clear as crystal that we are not going to allow Communists to occupy key positions where, by their activities, they can become a danger to the security of this country.”
