Three Candidates In Manawatu Elections Suffer III Health
PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 16. Capricious fate has entered into the election campaign in the Manawatu and Palmerston North electorates. With the campaign as yet hardly under way, the National candidate for Manawatu, Mr. M. H. Oram, his Labour opponent, Mr. B. A. Rodgers, and the Labour candidate for Palmers*in North, Mr. G. H. Ormond Wilson, have all had their schedules of meetings upset by illness. Mr. Oram was stricken with acute appendicitis a fortnight ago, just after he opened his campaign. Mr. Ormond Wilson was taken ill yesterday and has announced the suspension of personal appearance for the coming week. The third casualty. Mr. Rodgers, had to curtail his meeting last night because of pain from an old football injury. He hopes, however, to continue with his campaign, provided the condition of his arm does not become
