Auckland Boxing Assn. To Make Bid For Higher Purse

AUCKLAND. Nov. 7, <P.A.).—-Per-mission to stage a contest for a purse of up to £750 is to be sought by the Auckland Boxing Association in its matching of Clarrie Gordon, of Otahuhu, and George Kapeen, of Australia in a welter-weight open-air contest. In the near future the association will also seek authority from the New Zealand Boxing Council, the controlling body, to divide the gate on a basis of 50 per cent, to the boxers, and 50 per cent, to the Community Sunshine Association.

Kapeen won a disputed decision in the first contest between the two in the Town Hali recently.
