WANGANUI HORSE HAD SIGNAL SUCCESSES AT THE ROYAL SHOW

Of interest to the Wanganui district was the success achieved by Mr. J. C. Williams in gaining a first and championship award at the recent Royal Show at Palmerston North with his pony stallion Robert. Mr. Williams bred the horse and the judge commented at the show that Robert would hold his own in any New Zealand company. During the show Robert was sold for 100 guineas, as Mr. Williams has purchased an Arab colt from Australia. The colt is registered in the Stud Book as Sabah and is a pure Arab by Razell (imp.) out of Dahana, bred by Mrs.'A. A. McLean, of the Fenwick Stud, Yan Yean, Melbourne A full sister to Sahab was adjudged champion at the Sydney Royal Show. Although only a yearling, Sahab shows great promise and should prove an asset to pony breeders in the district. The Stud Stock Department of Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., secured the colt for Mr. Williams.
