Moderator Of Presbyterian General Assembly
The Rt. Rev. Ronald S. Watson. M.C., E.D., M.A., who was installed as Moderator of the General Assebly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand at Timaru yesterday, was born in Blenheim. He was educated at Feilding, later proceeding to Victoria University College, where he graduated with honours in philosophy. Immediately following his ordination after his theological training in Knox College he served as a chaplain overseas from 1915 to 1919, when he was awarded the Military Cross. He has been assistant minister in First Church, Dunedin, and parish minister at Devonport, Khandallah, Ashburton, and serves at present at St. Andrew’s, Dunedin. He has been a leading figure in the administrative affairs of the church for many years.
