NEHRU SAYS VISIT TO U.S. WILL HELP UNITE EAST AND WEST

NEW YORK, Nov. 7 (Recd. 6 p.m.) —Pandit Nehru, Prime Minister of India, said today he believed his 26day visit to the United States would bring about closer relations between the Western World and Asia. Mr. Nehru said questions about east-west relations had been asked of him in America over and over again. Some people had a misconception about what was meant by “the east,” ho added. “If by ‘east’ you mean Asia. T certainly think relations between the East and West, will be drawn closer by my visit,” he said. Mr. Nehru will leave aboard President Truman's private plane tomorrow for London.
