Wins For Taihape And Country Cricket opened on Saturday. Taihape secured a first innings win against Mangaweka and Country beat Navy on the first innings. First century of the season was scored by Noel Ashenden, for Taihape, against last year’s champions. Ashenden also did well as a bowler, taking five Mangaweka wickets. Harvey tok five wickets for 48 runs. Navy were dismissed for 103 runs (W. Baile 51 and H. Crighton 20). Bowling for Country B. McConachie took five wickets for 17 runs, D. McCarthy three for eight.
