Fijian Boxer Wins Welterweight Bout In Wellington
AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— Francis Joseph, a welter weight from Fiji, met Sonny Hlckling, of Wellington, in an eight round bout in the Town Hull tonight. Joseph had Hickling groggy in the sixth round, but seemed content to coast 'along and win on points. In a six round welter weight preliminary, Noel Fitzwater, lOst. 71b. (Hastings) beat Laurie Rodger 9st. 121 b. (Auckland) on points. A supporting six round light weight contest resulted in a win on points for Paddy Waddick 9st. 81b. (Auckland) over Sonny Black 9st ,21b. (Auckland).
