Central Swimming Club; Annual Meeting
A decision to hold the club championships earlier in the season than was the case last season was agreed to at the annual meeting of the Central Swimming Club. Mr. W. E. Price, who prsided congratulated the cluo on a successful year of activity. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. b. Nolan; president, Mi. W. Ainsley; vice-presidents, Messis. T. Pargeter, W. Ayson, C. Thrush, W. F White, V. Dowsett, G. Dixon, V. B. Haworth, K. Welsh, G. Dodds, B. M. Silk and W. Price; treasurer, Mr. A. Reeve; secretary, Mr. L. Christian: assistant-secretary, Mr. J. Cowles; centre delegates, Mr. D. McGregor and Mr. G. Dodds; delegate tn R.L.S.S., Mr. K. Harrison; auditor Mr. P. Dickson; club captain, Mr. K. Welsh; vice-captain, Mi. D. Leil. ladies’ captain, Miss G. Sutherland: ladies’ convener, Mrs. G. Dodds; committee, Messrs. Harrison, Cowl s Welsh, Scott, Dodds, McGregor and. F. White On behalf of the centre, Mr. Price congratulated Mr. Ayson on -his work while representing his club on th centre. He also congratulated xlm members of the Dixon family on th.-ii services to the club throughout ti: years Mr. Ayson recommended that S club rooms be enlarged in the n«.future. This, and other business, was left to the incoming committee. The club’s annual social with the presentaion of prizes was held Monday. The programme included games and dancing. Mr. D. Lett wa MC and Mr. G. Watts was the piam>'. Presenting the prizes, the president congratulated the winners on the l .' performances.
