“Now Wants The Hand That Freed Him To Pay”
LONDON. May 30 (Recd. 6pm).— The American Communist leader Gerhard Eisler is claiming compensation from the Home Secretary, Mr Chuter Ede, says the “Daily Telegraph.”
Eisler was released from custody by a Bow Street magistrate on Friday after the hearing of an application for his extradition. Hv was taken off a Polish ship in Cowes Roads on May 14. Eisler’s legal adviser Mr Stanley Moore, said: “The claim will be based on the grounds that he was forcibly removed from a foreign ship on a charge of an extraditable crime that proved to be groundless.”
