April Meeting Of The Wanganui Mothers' Helpers’ Society
Mrs A. H. Mac Lean presided at the ’April meeting of the Mothers’ Helpers’ Society, held on Friday. In the ’absence of the seeretaiy (Mrs T. F. ■ Latham) she reported on the society’s i work, saying that because of the lack lof housekeepers they regretted that , several appeals for help had to be re- : fused. | In her report on the Residential I Nursery Mrs Mac Lean said it was | fully booked up for the next few ( months. Assistance was granted in j one case where the mother had to be in hospital. I It was also reported that a combined effort will be held for the nur|sery on the last Friday in May. | Mrs C. S. Ryan gave a report on the finances of the society, and Mrs C. A. Piper reported on the Women’s Auxiliary of the Crippled Children Society. The president and treasurer were authorised to purchase sheets which the society is donating to the Residential Nursery. National Council of Women remits were discussed and Mrs Mac Lean gave a talk on N.C.W. matters generally.
