Collision Between Two Motor-Cycles Has Sequel In Magistrate’s Court

A collision between two motorcyclists at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Glasgow Street on the afternoon of March 29 led to a charge oi drivig without due care and attention being preferred against one of them, Rov Kenneth Wall, in the Magistrates Court. Wanganui, yesterday- . i Defendant pleaded guilty through his counsel, Mr J. S. D. Tizard, and was fined £2, costs 13s. by Mr A. Coleman, S.M. Senior-Sergeant F. Culloty said that the other motor-cyclist was travelling along Victoria Avenue in the direciion o t St. John s Hill when the collision occurred. Defendant, who came out from behind a parked car. struck the rear wheel of the other ifiotor-cycle, the rider of which was thrown to the roadway, injuring his hands. , , . ~ Mr Tizard said that the defendant s coming out on his wrong side was due to his having called at a nearby garage to inquire about some spare parts. He did not see the other motor-cycle approaching- but when he did, straightened up and endeavoured to pass on the inside cf him. Defendant had suffered the most and his machine was considerably damaged.
