LAST MONTH WAS WETTEST IN CITY FOR EIGHT YEARS

Last month was the wettest Apr.l recorded in Wanganui for eight years, accord.ng to recordings at the City Council. Rain fell on 16 days and .the total fall for the month was 4.75 inches. The heaviest fall on any on- day was on April 12, when 89in. was recorded. The next heaviest .all was on Apr.l 25, when ,87in. was registered. The total number of hours of sunshine was 184. There were only tw days on which no sunshine was recorded. The mean temperature for last month was 53.4 deg., which compares with 58.5 for the corresponding period last year.
