NORTH ISLAND POWER SITUATION! REMAINS SATISFACTORY SO FAR
WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). —Hydraulic conditions had been satisstory and the general position had not changed during the week, stated the Electricity Controller Mr. A. E. Davenport, reporting today on the I electric power situation in the North Island for the week ended, midnight, Sunday. There was an excess consumption of 267,620 units or 0.82 per cent, more ' than the allocation, which was 32,375,I 500 units. Consumption amounted to i 32,643,120 units. Taupo fell during the week by .10 feet to 1174.65 feet I and Waikaremoana rose by .3 feet to 1 i 1999.6 feet. At the end of the week ; the clams at Mangahao were almost < empty. The rainfall for th c week at I Taupo was .80 inches at Waikaremoana, 2.45 inches and at Mangahao 2.36 inches. Discussing the situation in the 1 South Island, Mr. Davenport said that ‘ with a further increase in storage the ! general position remained satisfac- ’ tory. and it was not yet necessary to 1 apply special restrictions.
