NOT A GOOD DAWN PARADE Writing from Sydney, “Uncle Fred.” ot Wanganui, a Main Body man of the 1914-18 war. says that the Dawn Parade there on Anzac Day was a “bad show.” He endeavoured to obtain recognition as a returned serviceman but was not permitted to parade. In a letter to this “Corner’ he says Wanganui holds a real Dawn Parade, held as the light is breaking. In Sydney it was a service at the Cenotaph in the dark. THEY KNOW THEIR PLACES AND THEIR WANTS. The “Die Happy” Borough Council has decided not to enter the sheep farming business and to remain happy as a borough rather than get the Romney and rabbit complexes of our great primary industries.. At the same time Mosston has decided that it prefers to remain a farm area rather than become a city suburb. “We don’t want a city, we want a drain.” is the cry of Mosston. “Drain us and leave us!” VP OR DOWN TO THE PANTRY?
