Miss Y. Anderson Records Popular Win In Rifle Shoot

Tn a dull light and a light variable wind, members of the Wanganui Defence Rifle Club contested th e Luxford Memorial Cup at the Putiki range on Saturday. Highlight of the day was the popular win by Miss Y. Anderson, with 190 out of 200. Miss Anderson has performed with distinction at all the district championships she has attended and must rank with the leading riflemen in the country today. The shooting as a whole was good. Possibles by Miss Anderson and M. Jones were recorded. Runner-Up in the cup was G. C. Smith, with 187. The Purnell Cup, for class firing, will be held on the first Saturday in May. .
