Band Concerts In Marton During Winter To Be Investigated

During the year the Citizens' Committee was disbanded and its funds, amounting to £328, were handed over to be apportioned as follows: £75 uniform funo, £75 new instrument fund, and £l5O to a contest fund, the balance cf £2B to the general fund. SHOP DAY TOMORROW Under the auspices of the Marlon St. Francis’ Church a '’shop’ will be held in the Victory Hail tomorrow in aid of church funds. Various stalls, including produce, sweets, fancy, cake land fruit, will have many attractive I lines. The "shop" will be open from 111 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission to the hall is free. It was reported at a meeting of the | Manawatu Union on Tuesday that appioximately 40 players were known to be playing outside their boundaries and a letter was coming forward from Oroua Sub-Union, including applications from 13 players of the Ohiagaiti Club, for dispensation to play outside the boundaries. It was stated that the now defunct Halcombe Club could field two teams if Manawatu enforced its boundaries. The Manawatu Union decided to write to the Wanganui Union pointing out that a large number of playlet’s from Halcontbe, Kakariki and Oroua Sub-Union districts were playing in the Rangitikei Suh-Union, and . to call a conference of interested ori ganisations.
