Public Service Tribunal Has Been Appointed
WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— The Acting Prime Minister, Mr. Nash, announced tonight that in accord with the Government Service Tribunal Act, passed last session, a tribunal had been appointed, consisting of Judge Stilwell (chairman), Mr. Epgene Casey, and the Hon. R. Eddy. M.LC., to determine the remuneration and conditions of service of Government employees in accord with the Act. “A recent Order in Council,” said Mr. Nash, “prescribed that the Public Service Association and the New Zealand Workers’ Union (in so far as its members were employees of the Government) as service organisations as provided by the Act. and the Tribunal will hear representations and prescribe the scales of wages and salaries and conditions Mr. Eddy had been appointed on the nomination of the New Zealand Workers’ Union, but it had been agreed that he will make way for the nominee cf the Public Service Association when the nomination of the association has been received by the Government, and the case of the association is set down for her Ing by the Tribunal.”
