Ketch Waitangi Has Reached Sydney
SYDNEY, April 15 (Rec. 12.10 a.m.) —The ketch Waitangi reached Sydney from Auckland late last night after a 22-days voyage. The owner and skipper, Mr. E. B. Chapman, was accompanied by his wife, his six-year-old son, and Peter Oldham, Jim Ewers, and David Stewart. None of the party had made the crossing before.
The co-navigators, Chapman and Oldham, were proud of their dead reckoning which brought them straight to Sydney. Early in the voyage bilge water put the engine out of action for the remainder of the trip.
