LONDON WOOL MARKET

Indication That Prices Are Falling LONDON, April 15 (Recd. 6pm).—In keeping with the Dominion wool markets generally, the Bradford tops market is weeker this week and business is more or less at a standstill for the time being, states the International Wool Secretariat special news service. This is partly due to the Easter holiday break, but partly to indications that prices are falling. Some leading firms of top-makers have temporarily withdrawn their quotations until a clearer assessment of wool costs becomes possible. Firms open to do business would probably accept about 6d per lb less than a week ago for merino tops, except in the very finest qualities, but medium and lower crossbred tops remain unchanged. Approximate quotations are:—

Seventies A, 124 d; 64’s a ilzd; 64’s B, 106 d; 60's, super, 96d; 60’s, average, 92d; 58’s, super, 80d; 58’s average, 74d to 75d; 56’s, super, 63d; 56’s, average, 61d; 50’s, 40d; 48’s. 381; 46’s, 371 d. —Special N.Z.P.A. Correspondent.
