Ohakune Women’s Institute
Members of the Ohakune Women’s Institute gathered in the Railway Social Hall last. Tuesday to farewell two members, Mrs. Hoy and Mrs. Baker. Mrs. Rowland presided and Mrs. Whetton opened the programme with two songs, “A Perfect Day” and “Old Folks at Home,” which were very much enjoyed. Mrs London gave a recitation, “Not Understood.’’ This was followed by a song “Bless This House” sung by Mrs. Veale, and two duets by Mesdames Compton and Murray, also a recitation by Mrs. Compton.
Mrs. Rowland presented the departing guests with beautiful floral sprays and the institute souvenir spoon. The rest of the afternoon was taken up with competitions.
