COURT IS PROCEEDING TO AMEND AWARDS
WELLINGTON. Last Night (PA). —The Registrar of the Court of Arbitration. Mr. R. Lumsden, today made the following announcement of interest to all unions: “Under Regulation 39C of the Economic Stabilisation Regulations, the Court is empowered of its own motion to amend awards and agreements for the purpose of giving effect to its pronouncement. It may also act upon an application made in that behalf by any party to any award or agreement. The Court, has already amended the furniture trade employees’ award, which was the subject of one of the applications for pronouncement. <>■ After the Easter vacation the Court will proceed of its own motion to amend many other awards and agreements. If in any particular case the Court considers that some action by the parties is desirable an announcement will be made at a later date.” It is understood that approximately 580 awards and agreements are affected.
