Gonville Women’s Bowling Club Holds Successful Tourney
A one-day full-rink bowling tournament on the Gonville green resulted in the sum of £25 being collected on Tuesday for the Gonville Ladles’ Bowling Club’s proposed green. Sixteen teams competed and five games of nine heads were played. Fou r teams secured four wins and instead of playing-off it was agreed to draw.
The winning rink proved to be L. Wales, Mrs. Dear, F. Beard and G. Reynolds. Vegetable, cake and sweet stalls were well patronised and a competition for a valuable crystal salad bowl donated by Mr. P. B. Anderson heped to swell the funds.
