WANGANUI CROQUET ASSOCIATION’S TOURNEY ADVANCED FURTHER
The Wanganui Croquet Association's annual tournament at the Wanganui Croquet Club’s greens, St. John’s Hill, was advanced a further stage yesterday. The weather was fine and conditions were ideal for play. Results were as follows: Handicap singles: Mrs. Schweiters beat Mrs. Campbell 26-24; Miss L. M. Jennings beat Mrs. Scott 26-10; Mrs. Knowles beat Mrs. Lynch 26-15; Wilson beat Mrs. Bassett 26-10; Mrs. Lockett beat Mrs. ■ Trussell 26-16; Miss M. J. Jennings beat Mrs. Lange 26-9; McClymont beat Mrs. Marsh 26-20; Mrs. Burrell beat Mrs. Green 26-13; McClymont beat Mrs. Downey 26-10. Level A: Mrs. Easton beat Mrs. Owles 26-16; Mrs. Bott beat Campbell 26-24. Levels B: Burrell beat Miss Harper 26-25; Mrs. Bamber beat Mrs. Webber 26-18. Ladies’ championship: Mrs. Knowles beat Mrs. Remington 26-12. The following is the draw for today:— Handicap doubles: Mr. and Mrs. Campbell v. Mrs. Lockett and Mrs. Webber; D. McClymont and Mrs. Scott v. Mrs. Lynch and Mrs. Green; Mr. and Mrs. Burrell v. Mrs. Remington and Mrs. Schweiters. Open championship: Mrs. Bassett v. Mrs. Knowles.
