Westbourne Institute

At the meeting of the Westbourne Women’s Institute, held in the Castlecliff Town Hall, the president, Mrs Honeyman, welcomed all members- In the business dealt with it was agreed to hold a picnic at Dawson Falls and it was reported that several members attended the Waverley Institute birthday party. A collection of fat is to be made for Food for Britain. A letter in appreciation of Christmas parcels was received from the link in England.

A very welcome visitor to the meeting was Mrs Tremaine, one of the institute’s voluntary organisers, whos e help and advice was very much appreciated. Nominations were called for president. and committee for the coming year. Afternoon tea was served. Competition results were: —Best bloom, Mrs Tunnicliffe 1, Mrs Stillborn 2, Mrs Capp 3; duster bag, Mrs R. D. Stewart 1, Mrs Tunnicliffe 2.
