Philippine Volcano Taal Erupting
MANILA, Feb 15 (Recd 6 pin). —The volcano Taal, began emitting heavy columns of smoke early today and Red Cross workers have ordered the evacuation of villagers near the volcano, which killed 1(100 persons when it erupted in 1911. About 2000 persons in four villages in the vicinity of the volcano in Batanga’s province of southern Luzon are expected to be removed. Taal is reported to be showing unusual signs of activity. Unlike most volcanoes, Taal does not emit lava, but sulphur mud and sand.
