Mr. F. Moffatt’s Funeral Largely Attended
Commercial and farming interests of Wanganui were fully represented at the funeral of Mr. F. Moffatt, wjiich was held yesterday. The cortege included many personal friends from a wide area. The pallbearers from the residence to the hearse were Messrs. W. G. Cooper, R. W. Thomas, E. W. Laird, A. R. Laird, J. Brown, and F. Moffat. The bearers from the hearse to the crematorium were Messrs. W. H. Rowe, F. W. Burnet, J. F. Cameron, D. R. Jackson, R. V. Brown and C. P. Bates. The Rev W. J. Couling officiated'at a service at the house and at the crematorium. The various bodies with which Mr. Moffatt had been connected were fully represented. One little known appointment which he held was that of secretary to the Wanganui Racecourse Trustees, a body established in September, 1903 to supervise the trust, holding jurisdiction over the Wanganui course. Mr. Moffatt held the position of secretary from September 14, 1903 until his death.
