Wanganui Girls’ College Winner Has Not Yet Accepted Invitation

Susan Maclean, of the Wanganui Girls’ College, who is the girl selectde from the New Zealand competitors to make the trip to England, does not yet know whether she will be able to accept the invitation. Only bare details are available at the moment, and the question of studies and career must be taken into consideration.

Ihe offer is for a free return trip to England to attend a Youth Forum which IS to extend from March 10 until the middle of May.

The forum is being organised bv the Daily Mail. Overseas Mail and Continental Daily Mail, and the programme shows that the students will arrive in England on March 10 by air. On March 12 there will be a reception in London and from March 13 to March 17 there will be visits to places of interest in London and the counties. From March 21 to April 11 the pupils will attend scnools in the districts in which they are staying and the Overseas Mail and the Council for Eduucation in World Citizenship are arranging civic receptions, discussion groups, “brains trusts," etc., with opportunities for the visitors to know, as well as see, the country and its inhabitants. Forums will be held in Edinburgh or Glasgow and Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Leeds between April 20 and April 30 and on May 2 there will be a “change-over" under which students who have been staying in country homes will become the guests of town-dwellers and vice versa. The final forum is to be held in London on May 9 and the students will depart for their homes between May 10 and May 14.
