Death Of Mr. O. Johnson Former Headmaster At Fitzroy, N. Plymouth
NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night (PA) —The death occurred today of Oscar Johnson, aged 80, a former headmaster of the Fitzroy School, NewPlymouth. Mr. Johnson, who was on holiday at the Oakura beach, was working in the garden, and came indoors complaining of pains in the chest, and. died shortly afterwards. Mr. Johnson was born at Woolston, Christchurch, and was a son of Captain Charles Johnson. His lirst teaching appointment was at Dunsandel School. He also taught at Sedgemere (Canterbury), the Central School, New Plymouth, and at Fitzroy, where he was headmaster for 24 years.
