Election Of Officers Of N.Z. Nurses' Christian Union
The election of officers of the New Zealand Nurses' Christian Union was held in the common room of the Wanganui Girls’ College last night. Mrs. T. N. Gibbs was re-elected president. The majority of the other officers were re-elected. In her annual report Mrs. Gibbs disclosed that the continued progress of the union and the membership in the Dominion now totalled 1800. The N.Z. Nurses’ Christian Union is now affiliated with kindred Christian Unions throughout the British Commonwealth of Nations.
Mrs. Gibbs told the delegates that the patron of the union, Her Excellency, Lady Freyberg, had addressed executive members. Mrs. Gibbs moved a vote of thanks to the Wanganui Girls' College Board of Governors for the use. of their buildings. Thanks were also extended to the lot'll nurses’ committee and the Wanganui Hospital Board for the wonderful arrangements they had made for the wellbeing of the conference.
Miss Hiscox, on behalf of the conference, thanked Miss Buckingham for her services in the chair during the meeting. The Rev. N. R. Wood commenced his series of Bible studies yesterday morning.
