Christmas Party For Children Of The Margaret Watt Home
A Christmas party given on Saturday evening by the members of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Choir, in St. Paul’s Hall, to the children of the Margaret. Watt Home, was one of the happiest yet held. A gaily decorated Christmas Tree, laden with presents, was the work of Misses June Chelley and Betty Robb. The Rev. A. C. McLean presided and Mr. H. Nagel arranged the programme. The children were entertained witn games, and just before the gift giving Ngaire Wight sang the carol, "Holy Night." Then Father Christmas arrived with a little fairy (Pamela Gordon) and he took her to the beautifully decorated tree, from which she minded the gifts to Father Christmas, _who then presented them Io th’e children. Afterwards, all sat down to a party supper, the children donning brightly coloured caps. The ice creams served during the evening were donated by friends of members of the choir. Mr. R. N. Wilson, on behalf of the Margaret Watt Home Trust, thanked the choir for entertaining the children.
