Big Explosion
NEW YORK. Nov. 29 (Rec. 11 pm).—A terrific explosion on lhe Williamette River shook Portland tonight and wrecked the three-storey Portland Dock Commission’s building. Windows in scores of nearby buildings were .shattered. The Dock Commission’s building caught fire but firemen brought the lire under control. The commission’s engineer was admitted to hospital with injuries. One man was blown 200 feet into the street from the Commission’s Building It is thought seepage from a gas main may have caused the explosion.
