Lorry, With Timber, Stolen, But Vehicle Was Returned
A lorry on which a small amount of timber had been loaded, was removed from the yards of the Wanganui Sash and Door Timber Company, Ltd., Ridgway Street, on Saturday night. When the vehicle was recovered on Sunday on a property adjoining the yards the timber and two gallons of petrol from the amount in the tank were missing. The lorry was slightly damaged. It was evident that whoever had taken the vehicle had driven it a fair distance, removed the timber and then driven the lorry back again. The matter is in the hands of the police.
