PARLIAMENT BLDGS.. Last. Night (P.A.) Problems of education administration. particularly in regard to post-primary schools in Christchurch, were discussed by mentbers of ihe House of Representatives when they debated the Education Amendment. Bill. The discussion occupied more than two and a-half hours before the Bill was committed. Mr. McCombs. Minister of Education. replying to the debate on the Bill, said the Government was at present considering the possibility of increasing the 'boarding allowance of 10s a week for country children boarding at secondary schools. Mr. McAlpine had contended that the present allowance was inadequate. Mr McCombs also said that he thought it was not possible to arrive at a satisfactory formula for the constitution of education boards and it would be necessary, before the next education board elections were held, to arrive at an ad hoc arrangement in each case.
