St. Laurence’s Church Parishioners Farewell The Rev. Mayo

After the evening service on Sunday at St. Laurence's Church, Aramoho, the parishioners fareweiled tne Rev. Mayo, who has been in charge of the parish during the past 18 months, relieving till the new clergyman arrives-

Prior to leaving for their home at Marton yesterday, the Rev. and Mrs. Mayo and family were presented with gifts by Mr. W. G. Davison, churchwarden, who said how sorry the parishioners were to lose them and spoke of the line work they had done during their stay in Aramoho. An oak eight-day chiming clock was handed to the Rev. Mayo, and to Mrs. Mayo half a dozen crystal tumblers, a pearl necklace to Miss N. Mayo and a paua shell dress ornament to Miss E. Mayo. On Sunday morning at Westmere the Rev. Mayo was presented with a crystal salad bowl. Another presentation took place at Rapanui on Saturday at the break-up of the Sunday school, when a Biro pen was presented to the Rev. Mayo, a cup, saucer and plate to Mrs- Mayo, and gifts for their daughters. Items were given by the children.
