SCHOOL GIRL BELIEVED DROWNED
AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).—A girl, aged 11 years, is believed to have lx%3n drowned in the Waihou River on Friday while bathing with school companions. She is Jullian Edell Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mitchell, of Tirohia, near Paeroa. With two other girls and a boy of the same age, the girl went to bathe in the Waihou River during the luncheon break at the Tirohia Primary School on Friday afternoon. The river was running high and the missing girl, who could not swim, was apparently carried out of her depth by the current. The girl did not go back to school with the other children, and when she did not reTurn home a search party was organised. Her clothes were found on the river bank about mid-day on Saturday.
